Customer Services - Front Office Advisor.
Providing technical advice on the NHS recruitment process, HR queries, and any ongoing issues with staff or managers. Interacted with NHS managers, consultants, new applicants, and colleagues throughout the trust.
Evolved role within Employment Services, HR Office,transitioning into a full-time position within Recruitment from 2013.
As part of this role, I solely managed all international medical new recruits, being their first and main contact throughout the recruitment process. Supporting from initial contact with them in their home country and advising on the ongoing recruitment, onboarding to follow.
Applying for their visa prior to relocating to the UK.
Arranging accommodation outside the Trust, and generally helping them to feel comfortable in their new beginning.
On arrival to UK, my contact continued with them on their recruitment journey. Being their first point of call to help them settle in, which was a duty that continued with them over the years throughout their employment.
Roles within the office changed over the years due to staff turnover. Medical staffing was outsourced to another team, and we collectively worked together to manage the whole recruitment process from start to finish as one team. Advertising vacancies in a timely manner ensured that the roles throughout the Trust were appointed to as soon as possible. I would chase managers to shortlist candidates and follow up on the interview outcomes, so we were able to get the offers out to applicants and commence clearances.
Once applicants pre employment checks commenced NHS employers guidelines were to be followed . An ID check carried out including Visa if required , DBS clearance , Health check and references to be applied for .
On occasions, applicants would need to be chased for a long time for information, and often references would need to be queried. While keeping the appointing managers up to date with the applicants process , we were all working to a tight time scale to fill these roles.
Within the general running of the office, there could be numerous elements happening at once: the doorbell and two phone lines, each that could ring simultaneously. Prioritising was a key factor within the role to assist in the smooth running of the office .
I dealt with various operating systems . The Recruitment system (TRAC) ,NHS Employers, Gov.Uk , Onboarding System , Oracle, Word , Excel etc
I issued security badges and smart cards for system access .
I Trained a number of new starters within the office over the years in various aspects of Employment Services .
General enquires regarding pay problems , completing manager forms , personal issues all to be resolved urgently and courteously to leave a happy applicant /employee.
