Volunteering

  • As a child I was part of a club that was taught first aid from the Saint Johns Ambulance crew.
  • For work experience I worked for a week in a SEN school helping the children in and out of the classroom. Taking them swimming with the teacher, taking them out to play and helping them with feeding themselves during meal times.
  • I have volunteered to help socialise and clean up after three litters of Golden Retriever puppies, this included cleaning the pen while they were taken for outdoor toileting times, playing with them to make sure they were used to people before being sold to new owners and grooming them and their older siblings with de-shedding brushes and undercoat combs.
  • Volunteering on and off my whole life in my grandmothers charity shop in London when we visit her, helping customers and greeting people, sorting through donations and put items out on the shop floor.
  • I was also a young carer for my mother growing up as she needed help with tasks around the house and being pushed in her wheelchair.
