Summary

Motivated and compassionate graduate with a degree in Social Policy and Criminology, supported by a strong academic background in Sociology and a particular interest in equality, inclusion, identity and social wellbeing. My studies have developed my understanding of the social factors that can influence individuals' experiences, behaviour, opportunities and sense of identity, providing me with a thoughtful and non-judgemental approach to working with young people.

Through my Inclusion in the Workplace course and my first employment experience, I have developed an awareness of the importance of creating inclusive, respectful and supportive environments where individuals feel valued and able to participate. My Extended Project Qualification, which explored gender-neutral parenting and its effects on a child's identity, further strengthened my research, critical-thinking and communication skills, while encouraging me to consider how different experiences and environments can shape a young person's development and sense of self.

I am particularly interested in applying these skills to an Outreach Mentor role supporting SEN and SEMH students. I believe my academic knowledge, empathetic mindset and understanding of inclusion would allow me to build positive relationships with students, recognise individual needs and encourage confidence, engagement and personal development. I am keen to support young people who may face barriers to education or wider participation and to provide patient, consistent and encouraging guidance tailored to each individual.
