Summary

I first started care work eight years ago due to a family friends father being diagnosed with lewy body dementia. I acted as the 2 double up for the care company and that spiralled into a vocation.

my mother also suffered with primary progressive multiple sclerosis which gave me the chance to really understand invisible disabilities from a young age.

I was also, from then, introduced to palliative care as both family member sadly passed away.

This made me far more aware that quality of life is the essence of my work.

Over my 8 years I have made person centred care my priority as well as adhering to the company's policies and procedures. This has enabled me to form strong bonds with both colleagues and clients as well as collecting qualifications withing my job.

My responsibilities have involved compassion, dignity, respect, patience, having a thick skin, communication amongst many others.

I have loved my job but am now excited to try something in a different field.
