Mechanical Engineer / Contractor Control
Amazon Engineering
Rugby, Warwickshire
08.2020 - 02.2022
Part of the engineering team at BHX10 and BHX5 sites as a highly skilled engineer.
First role was at BHX10 working in the 'T-shirt on Demand' manufacturing facility throughout their launch phase.
Involved process improvement, implementing CBM and various project-based tasks to significantly improve TAKT time.
These improvements enabled a 50% increase in machinery raising daily income from £78,000 to £117,000.
My second role at Amazon was a role migration to another site BHX5, Here I took on senior responsibilities as the contractor control engineer
This involved me seeing through all contractor projects onsite.
Responsibilities to lease and plan with management on required projects, communicate with contractor companies such as CBRE, TGW and Jungheinrich and be their main point of contact while on site.
Id approve risk assessments and engineering method statements making amendments where needed, create permits to work ensuring all works are carried out to the highest standard and in the safest manner.
Work closely with all install teams in both a practical and administrative manner.
Collated data to identify root causes of issues, minimising repeat concerns.
Collaborated with engineering team to complete projects.
Organised and documented maintenance processes to meet long-term upkeep requirements of mechanical systems and equipment.
Consulted on engineering projects, offering mechanical perspective to different disciplines in collaborative environment.

Mechanical Engineer
Heller Machine Tools
Redditch, Worcestershire
04.2019 - 08.2020
Involved in the manufacturing flow line of mechanical assembly for the new 5 axis HF series CNC machine.
Involved fabricating, preparing, installing and aligning major machine components, such as A/B axis, machine spindles and HELP units.
Improved my ability and knowledge with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as using high precision alignment tooling.
Became proficient at repairing large delivery damage received from external suppliers. This involved fabricating repairs and reworking large components back to a high standard and avoiding 7-8-week turn around by re-ordering parts, as suppliers were from Poland and America, saving the company on average £11000 per machine project.
Quickly becoming multiskilled across four major build sections of the HF series manufacturing process made me the main mechanical engineer for picking up shortfalls in the build process.
