Work History

Systems Engineer

Systems Engineering & Assessment (SEA Ltd.)
Beckington, Somerset
09.2024 - Current

Starting as a Graduate Systems Engineer and progressing to a full Systems Engineer, I gained experience across multiple areas of the business. I initially worked within Maritime Communications on a project delivering a bespoke External Communications System for military vessels. Key responsibilities included:

  • Owning major subsystem design documents across multiple system baselines, delivering to key contractual milestones.
  • Authoring system qualification reports and Integrated Logistics & Support artefacts.
  • Travelling overseas to support system integration, diagnosing issues with system components or interfaces and then proposing viable technical solutions back to the UK based design team for approval.
  • Supporting verification and validation activities, including harbor acceptance testing.
  • Documenting system configuration and conducting physical audits of the system directly with the customer.

Following the ramp-down of systems engineering activities on the project I was moved across to the decoy launcher side of the business, on a project aimed at providing a decoy launcher capability to several classes of Royal Navy vessels. My key responsibility on this project was conducting a traceability analysis of system requirements to identify gaps in stakeholder requirements coverage.

Military Engineering Intern

Moog Aircraft Group
Wolverhampton, West Midlands
09.2022 - 09.2023

Embedded into the Systems and Performance team, I had the opportunity to involve myself in a range of office and lab-based engineering work. I achieved the following:

  • Updated and produced reports and procedures for the introduction of new components for multiple active military programs.
  • Designed, manufactured, and integrated modifications to a test rig to perform endurance testing on actuator components.
  • Developed a test method to identify the presence of mechanical impedance in actuator test rigs.
  • Lead a STEM project aimed at teaching younger people mechanical engineering principles.
