I am an aspiring barrister, currently studying the Bar Practice Course at the University of Law, after having graduated from the University of Liverpool in Summer 2025 with a first class degree in Law. I have developed many of the necessary skills needed to become a successful barrister throughout the last few years, through a combination of my education, work, and extra-curricular activities and responsibilities. My teamwork, communication, and advocacy abilities would make me an outstanding candidate for Pupillage.

Marshalling;
In September 2025, I had the privilege of undertaking a 3 day marshalling programme with His Honour Judge Robert Egbuna at Nottingham Crown Court. Those few days were invaluable, providing me with my first insights into various ways in which the justice system operates. While sitting next to Judge Egbuna in court was incredibly interesting, seeing first hand the advocacy of King's Counsel barristers, the most valuable part of the experience was spending time away from the courtroom with him, seeing how a case is viewed from a judge's perspective, and hearing his advice on how to progress in my career.
Skills Developed- Knowledge of the legal system, Advocacy
Cheshire Constabulary Scrutiny Panel;
On two occasions in 2025, I have taken part in the Cheshire Constabulary Scrutiny Panel through the University of Law's Pro Bono service. In the sessions, we had the opportunity to watch police bodycam footage, and provide our feedback on how the police acted in different situations. The sessions were insightful into how the law is carried out in the real world, and I plan on continuing my involvement with the panel in 2026.
Skills Developed; Critical Thinking, Providing Feedback
Business and Property Law Mooting Competition;
In November 2025, I took part in the University of Law's annual Business and Property Law Mooting Competition. This was my first experience of competitive mooting, and receiving feedback from His Honour Judge Pearce was an incredibly valuable opportunity.
Skills Developed; Mooting, Persuasiveness
No5 Barristers' Chambers Advocacy Training Weekend;
In October 2024, I took part in No5 Barrister's Chambers Advocacy Training Weekend in Birmingham. The weekend was my introduction to spoken advocacy, and performing in front of others in my position helped me realise that I would pursue a career at the Bar.
Skills Developed; Oral Advocacy, Confidence
Politics FC: Club President- After having played for Politics FC, a Liverpool student football team, for two years, I was made President for my third year of University. Highlights included securing multiple sponsorships, as well as organising the inaugural Politics Cup, a national student football tournament.
Skills Developed- Leadership, Communication, Organisation
Laws of the Game: In November 2025, I began a TikTok page where I explain various legal principles in a football context, combining my two biggest passions. The account (@laws.of.the.game) has gained over 15,000 views in just over a month, and has improved my advocacy skills by forcing me to watch back videos of myself speaking, and looking for how I could improve to make what I say more engaging.
Budapest Marathon: After taking up running in 2023, I ran the Budapest Marathon in October 2024, raising £850 for two charities. It was an incredible experience, which improved my work ethic, and placed an emphasis on my time management skills as I balanced training with the final year of my law degree.
