Project Experience

Traffic & Transport Assessment – Various, Ireland

I have been involved in supporting various planning applications across Ireland through the preparation of Traffic and Transport Assessments / Statements. As part of these, I have prepared figures using GIS to demonstrate:

- Walking & Cycle Catchments and Infrastructure,

- Existing & Planned Public Transport Routes,

- Points of Interest,

Projects include:

- Murphystown Residential Development

- Somers Delgany Residential Development

- Ard Uisce Residential Development

- Cannock Way Mixed Use Development

Wind Farm Decommissioning, Confidential

I assisted with the preparation and delivery of an Abnormal Loads Route Assessment (ALRA) report, which included the delivery of a series of Swept Path Analysis drawings.

Tandy's Lane Residential Development, Adamstown, Co. Dublin

For the Tandy's Lane residential development I prepared the General Arrangement drawings for the proposal. This entailed designing parking spaces, tactile paving and shared surfaces.

Armley Road, Residential Development, Leeds

I prepared figures to demonstrate a ‘Day in the Life' of prospective residents of a proposed residential scheme in Leeds city centre. This included a comparison of journey times and length for those using private car v public transport for identical journey purposes. The result of this work demonstrated that there was no time saving achieved by using private car for the majority of typical journeys due to the site's central location and strong public transport links.

Care Home Developments, UK Wide

I have worked on various care home development planning applications throughout the UK, providing GIS figures demonstrating:

- Walking and Cycling Catchments & Infrastructure.

- Points of Interest relevant to the development.

- Accident data of the surrounding road networks.

- Public Transport information.

Projects include:

- Anniesland Care Home

- Lemington Spa Care Home

- Northwich Care Home

Zak City, Pakistan

Lewis was required to produced site analysis figures including current infrastructure and future changes for a large residential-led mixed use development in Pakistan. Lewis prepared GIS figures including site boundary, project boundary and nearby transport options such as rail, road and the airport.

NEOM Trojena Trail Mapping, Kingdon of Saudi Arabia (KSA)

Lewis prepared analysis of a series of walking trails proposed within the Trojena Region of NEOM, KSA. This included the mapping of trails within the wider context of the site, identification of entry and exit points to the trails and review of hiking distances.

Golf Driving Range, Stirling

I used traffic data to calculate the traffic impact of a proposed Golf Driving Range in Stirling, Scotland. This involved setting out base level traffic, calculation of trip generation of the proposed development and distribution of these trips. I then applied the proposed development trips to the base level traffic data and prepared a percentage impact diagram across a series of junctions on the local road network.

Luxury Chalet and Glamping site, Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire

I supported the preparation of a Transport Statement for a Glamping site in Aberdeenshire by creating figures to demonstrate the journey from the site into the local town of Laurencekirk could be achieved by active travel users. I also undertook a review of existing core paths and footway's and highlighted gaps in these along the route which was rural in nature.

St Patrick's School, Maghera

I have utilised post code data to create a visual representation of catchment areas for pupils traveling to a proposed relocated school site in Maghera, County Londonderry. I then used the catchment data to assess walking distances and routes to schools for pupils and staff. Lewis used this to determine the number of pupils and staff who would be affected by the relocation of the school in order to inform potential modal shift caused by the proposal.

Town Centre Redevelopment, Castledermot Ireland

I supported with the traffic data analysis of ATC counters in multiple areas around the town centre. This included analysing camera footage to determine the pedestrian movements on walkways and car park occupancy for off-street parking facilities. Additionally this continued into drawing up heat map figures to provide knowledge around how pedestrians travel to the town centre.
