I worked as a tram maintainer at the Nottingham Tram Depot, where I was part of a five-person exam team. Our responsibilities included carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) at specified mileage intervals and handling corrective maintenance tasks. Additionally, I contributed to the 5S rollout across the depot and supported the GSI/SES exam structure by collaborating with production managers and the business improvement specialist to develop a more efficient system within the depot.

Collaborated in the production process by adhering to vehicle specifications and instructions. Acquired valuable experience working as part of large teams during the assembly of the Aventra class 720 trains. Contributed to team objectives to ensure project requirements and deadlines were consistently met.

Conducted routine inspections to ensure optimum performance. Executed regular preventive maintenance. Prepared detailed reports after each visit documenting services rendered or repairs carried out.

Operated CNC surface grinders for marine piston rings, using specialist tools, interpreting engineering specifications and performing regular calibration.
