Hi there, my name is Lewis and I'm 17 and l have completed my GCSEs and started at Brighton MET college in September 2024 studying Electrical Installations. I like to be on time, organised and ready to go before the day starts, I get everything I need ready the night before so I can get up and go straight away. I'm helpful, Independent and always happy to help others. I have always been a fan of working with my hands, I have built my own PC and a number of different car models from Meccano to Steam Engines. I have also helped my dad with building our own log cabin at home during the covid lockdown. I joined the school race team called Greenpower, where we built an electric car and raced it at Goodwood against other schools. I was personally responsible for ensuring the steering and speedometer worked correctly. On race day, I was in the car about to go onto the track as the car broke down. This meant that we had to fix the car and be back on track within a 10 minute deadline. We went from 82nd to 68th in only 4 laps, this shows determination and resilience to bounce back after a difficult spell. I have also had experience in a team after representing my local football team for 2 seasons, so I know that teamwork is key to success, faster learning and a stable working environment. In 2023 and 2024, I completed the Worthing 10k to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital as in 2022 I underwent major ear reconstruction at the hospital, this shows bravery and courage. I'm due to Run a Half Marathon In May for GOSH ( Great Ormond Street Hospital). I believe this shows determination to help people and achieve my goal!
