I looked after my own shift at G R Wrights. My shift consists of 13 people. This involves working with a team leader in making sure all areas of the factory are on target to hit their plan. Also working closely with the other shift to ensure change overs were smooth and production did not stop. Also, working closely with warehouse manager for upcoming orders, stock counts and pallet movement.
As a production operator, I was operating packing lines, weighing out ingredients for mixes or mixing products into tonne tote bags.
Our packing lines would vary from 10kg - 20kg on trade lines, 500g on our retail line and between 80g & 400g on our FFS machines.
Weighing would involve collecting full bags of ingredients as well as manually weighing out part bags and putting them into a container ready to be mixed.
In the mixing area, we would take a container full of ingredients and mix with flour. We would also add oil & fat if the mix required.
I also spent a few months working in ou r warehouse picking orders, putting stock away on our aracking nd loading/unloading lorries.a
I started off stacking shelves in various departments. I was mainly working in the fresh food area. Was moved to checkouts, bakery, produce, warehouse and then finally into the administration office.
Once I moved into the office, I was working for the store manager as well as ordering stock, 6 monthly checks on SEL prices and making sure point of sale was correct.
