The Powergate is one of Microsoft's data center, it is located in Park Royal and is one of the biggest DC at the present time in the country with a capacity of 96MW combined for LON01 and LON02 block of Colos. MEP value : £600M.

  • Design:

Utilizing design management tools (Aconex, Compass and BIM360) to monitor and control project coordination, including tracking progress and ensuring timely delivery to the QAQC steps according to Microsoft's protocol.

Leading the integration of architectural and MEP information in drawings from stage 3 to as-builts with alternative solutions highlighted if necessary. Coordinating structural information and the below ground services leading to the main infrastructure, the E- houses and the landscape.

Leading the communication between Mace and the utility providers when services are presented.

Driving the relation between Mace and the local building authorities witnessing the works.

Maintaining and enhancing client relationships through effective communication by scheduled design workshops between the GC, the representative engineering team of Microsoft and the subcontractors to address the mechanical and the IST raised queries.


  • Project management:

Overseeing the installation of the mechanical works from start to handover through LON02 ( 5 Colos /floors), while leading the energization process of the mechanical assets in LON01 ( Similar structure to LON02) till the point of CYT or YT.

Witnessing and setting up QA reviews of the mechanical works with the client's representatives and raising queries through Microsoft's dedicated software systems.

Monitoring progress through bespoke trackers and feeding information to the planning team.

Reviewing or generating MEP statements serving commercial discussions against the IFCI document and the contracts signed between the GC and the relevant subcontractor. Discussing buildability solutions with cost effective or cost neutral impact and getting proposals approve through the reviewing line of nominated voters prior to execution.

Reviewing RAMS and HSW documentation through Fexillon while commanding specific tool box talks to take place when deemed suitable.

Preconstruction:

Leading the MEP design from RIBA Stage 3 up to stage 5.

Addressing challenges that follow such a project from a building services prospective and assisting the civil engineering team to address loading restrictions across the footprint.

Demonstrating design management procedures, preparing design program and setting design deliverables according to program demands

Chairing design team meetings as necessary during contract.

Ensuring compliance with BREEAM, BS 9991 :2021,LPC rules, BS 12845. Producing RFIs and IDDs to the client as a follow up on technical validations.

Reviewing energy strategies with the us of Ambient loop ( a mixture between ASHP to WSHP) and advising VE options for the mechanical plants involved.

Reviewing Fire Strategies and checking M&E design solutions comply. Engaging with specialist in relevant design development.


Generating or ensuring contractual terms, tender enquiry packages and conditions for suppliers and subcontractors are administered.

Supporting the change control process and assist in identifying the cost implications of any proposed changes.

Developing the supply chain relationships by introducing reputable MEP contractors to the group. • Pre-construction :
Driving the design from stage 3 to stage 4 and 5. Organizing the MEP pre order placement interview(POPI).
Gap analysis between tender and construction issue information. Validations.
Reviewing and Issuing technical submissions, samples, drawings & schematics for client's team approval through the CDS process.
Status validations and amendments on stage 5 drawings and integrations with other packages as from an MEP prospective by organising federated layout workshops.
QA factory visits and witnessing of FAT tests. Validation of contractor design portions (CDP).
Providing buildability and programme advice through CDM workshops.
Ensuring compliance with building regulations and all their relevant recent amendments. Organizing the health and safety strategy or reporting and monitoring till the handover
Setting up Commissioning sequence strategy and generating bespoke scope of works for the package. Implementing progress, quality and drawing release tracking methods.


•Construction:
Agreeing/submitting MEP benchmarks and organizing the QA reporting via Field view.
Undertaking technical co-ordination of MEP installations against third parties installations. Amend when necessary to avoid progress stagnations.

• Sustainability:
Leading the mechanical part of the Exemplar project ( an exercise with the vision of a zero net carbon footprint during construction by 2030 for the company by Wembley Park NE03 and NE02 being the pilot projects).
Implementing smart monitoring of usages and automated control systems such as Wint for smart water meter and leak detection and Rayleigh connect for power monitoring.
Introducing a bespoke mobile energy centre of air source heat pumps created by Solaris LTD for the 4 floor site office and welfare cabins and achieving reducing energy consumption by 40% annually.


Aftercare and taking ownership of previous critical projects delivered by Sisk in UK South:

Taking control of crucial MEP tasks during the aftercare period for the buildings E04 and E05. Investigating a water stagnation issue across a tower of flats and driving to resolve using lab analysis and commercial terms and conditions applied to relevant parties.
Called to take ownership of the MEP package at St John's Hill phase 2 regeneration for Peabody. Re procuring and re organizing the MEP works after main subcontractor filed administration. Delivered package within time for handover and kept the commercial impact to the bear minimum whilst the quality of the end product remained exceptional.

Construction :

Initially part of an MEP team of 4 members with tasks managing the completion of the plantroom responsible to serve 1100 apartments (SQP1 612 and SQP4 500).

First fix to completion of all the mechanical and electrical elements for the first tower SQP1 including the final building control witnessing and client/facility management handover training.

Co-ordinating as may be necessary the activities of the trades and disciplines involved on the site so that all operations are performed efficiently and in accordance with the construction programme, the quality and cost standards required by the Company.

Inspections of new installations, technical and quality compliance.


Reviewing test packs and recording information compliance. Organising commissioning demonstrations.

Commenting of subcontractor M&E O+M manuals.

Creating M&E definitive snagging list for all the areas of the project specified to its needs & clearance of same.

Recording information for additional works and providing post handover support.

• AHSP & WSHP : Leading the carbon operational reduction goals of two companies at different times by selecting the right ASHP or WSHP for the upcoming projects operating on water, ambient loop or R32. Created strong links with main manufacturers such as Daikin, Mitsubishi, Danfoss, Carrier and managed to deliver systems able to deliver anything from 70kw -800kw per single unit.
