Key responsibilities and experience:

  • Built a Information and Records Management function from scratch as a team of two. Compiled a Business Classification Scheme by conducting a functional analysis of the business. Involved cross-business collaboration.
  • Designed and implemented Information Asset Ownership framework, including defining accountabilities and responsibilities for ownership, and designing an Information Asset Register and dashboard. Have been nominated for IRMS 'Innovation of the Year' Award for this piece of work (winner to be selected/awarded in May).
  • Significant experience using M365 Purview Compliance Portal: configured of retention and record labels; sensitivity labels; conducted eDiscovery searches (Standard and Premium) for disclosure obligations; use of audit log for assurance.
  • Collaborated with technical teams to architect SharePoint sites, taking into account information management principles.
  • Drafted and reviewed policies and procedures, specifically the Information and Records Management Policy, Retention Schedule, Information Handling guidance. Input into Generative AI Policy.
  • Conducted a Data Governance Maturity Assessment.
  • Experience leading on stakeholder engagement across the business, including at Senior/Executive level. Presented persuasive business cases to garner senior support, particularly for Information Ownership.
  • Mapped business processes to understand gaps; implemented processes around sensitive information to manage its lifecycle, e.g., DBS certificates and Police National Computer (PNC) reports to ensure compliance with Data Protection legislation.
  • Implemented HMG Security Classifications to classify data and designed sensitivity labels to align with this.
  • Managed disposition reviews using Purview Records Management tooling.
  • Led workstreams within Projects acting as the SME for Information & Records Management. Projects have included large migrations from old DM system to SharePoint.
  • Experience conducting sensitivity reviews on records for transfer to The National Archives; responded to the Information Management Report.
  • Provided advice and recommendations to senior management and the business on information management queries, including retention, classification, disclosure, information lifecycle. Acted as SME within the SIA process (Security Impact Assessment) to provide advice on information access, retention, disposition.
  • Spearheaded and delivered training on topics like metadata, information management, and information ownership to the rest of the business, either via presentations or through recording videos for the Intranet.
