  • Lead Mental Health across the three campuses.
  • Lead Safeguarding for Cannington Campus ensuring the student experience is safe and robust for our learners. Training new staff several times a year for follow on safeguarding training.
  • Support and promote the safeguarding policy at Bridgwater & Taunton College to ensure learners, visitors and staff are safeguarded
  • Create follow on, online training refreshers in terms of KCSIE, Prevent and Mental Health for all staff.
  • To provide and lead effective well-being, enrichment, health, chaplaincy and tackling inactivity services for learners at Cannington Campus.
  • Manage and Lead the Counselling provision ensuring the service we offer is Ethical and meets BACP requirements. This consists of a cross college team of 4 employed Counsellors and up to 9 counsellors in training on placement.
  • Managing and Leading the Cannington Campus well being provision ensuring we offer campus parity within our student experience.
  • Supporting learners to build resilience, become confident and reach their aspirations.
  • Creating a boundaried and robust supportive well being service that empowers learners to take ownership of their needs.
  • To support Personal Tutors in understanding and implementing the OFSTED Personal Development, Behaviour and attitudes criteria, ensuring our learners are the best they can be. Furthermore working with Tutors, Heads and Deputies to raise attendance and retention by implementing BTC strategies.
  • Help to implement and promote the BTC professional expectations with staff and learners.
  • Support the BTC Student Union and co-ordination of this on campus and support with Student parliament.
  • To work with multiple external agencies in order to provide effective Mental health and well being support services for students.
  • To Support and promote equality, diversity and inclusion at Bridgwater & Taunton College to ensure equality of opportunity for all learners, visitors and staff and the elimination of discriminatory practices
  • Contributing to the learner voice agenda and coordination of the forums on campus.

  • Implemented the core 10 evaluation tool within counselling sessions to gain a sense of impact and establish level of psychological need.

  • Delivered Connect 5 Mental Health training to the learning support team
