Marshalls (Street Furniture Division) Project manage, design, manufacture and install street furniture, lighting and signage for distributors, contractors, architects and specifiers, including a vast range of standard product, modified standard product and bespoke solutions to specification.

Responsibilities:

• Management of Engineering functions across two sites (Leamington Spa and North Shields).
• Compilation and implementation of strategy for integration of separate engineering functions, including systems (Microsoft Dynamics), organisational structure throughout the business, business processes and cultural change.
• Setting of benchmarks and monitoring performance of the engineering function.
• Implementation of systems for monitoring engineering capacity in order to capture potential issues before they arise and report to the rest of the business in order to ensure realistic lead-times are agreed and upheld.
• Responsible for ensuring that targets are met in relation to processing of modified standard and bespoke projects.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant standards in relation to product design, manufacture and installation.
• Development and implementation of standard drawing system to ensure that a cohesive system is in place, ensuring revision control, drawing checking and regular design reviews are carried out where necessitated.
• Designing and implementing a system for monitoring the provision of engineering support to the rest of the business allowing workload prioritisation, benchmarking and performance monitoring.
• Amalgamation of skills matrix across two sites and implementation of Company wide engineering development and training programs including writing of training materials and purveying of training.
• Advising Directors on most appropriate strategies for allowing streamlining of all business areas.
• Providing technical support to the external sales team, attending meetings with Customers to develop specification for Public Realm, lighting and street furniture schemes.

• Generation of artwork for Customer approval and production of signage.
• Providing general arrangement drawings and signage artwork files for approvals purposes.
• Generation of detailed design drawings for manufacture of component parts using numerous materials and manufacturing processes.
• Generation of assembly drawings, BoM's, manufacturing instructions and installation instructions.
• Writing of Operation and Maintenance manuals for ensuring longevity of supplied product and to uphold product performance.
