  • Within this role, I am responsible for planning and optimising daily delivery or collections routes, carrying out mandatory vehicle checks, and loading vehicles safely and efficiently. I deliver/collect customer orders accurately and in a timely manner, including installation of the medical equipment where required.   • At H+M it was my role to supervise a small team of warehouse forklift truck operatives. My responsibility was to ensure my team would load pallets onto outbound vehicles whilst meeting strict operational deadlines. I maintained high standards of health and safety compliance when operating and overseeing the use of heavy machinery and promoted excellent housekeeping practices throughout the warehouse.

  • My job role at Hollingsworth and Vose was to supervise a team that worked in the logistics department of the mill. My duties were to ensure the team completed picking customer orders, packaging customer orders, then loaded accurately and safely onto our worldwide transportation lorries under the deadline targets provided. I would also keep the storage warehouse and yard, clean and tidy and make sure all health and safety regulations and company policies are complied with. I was accountable for stock management such as registering incoming and outgoing stock onto a computer database for accurate traceability. I was responsible for annual stock counting and external audits. Other responsibilities I had included making and amending internal standard work procedures and completing risk assessments for the storage warehouse as it was very busy, with a lot of heavy machinery being used.

  • After working in the warehouse as an operative and a forklift driver, I was promoted to one of the four-day driver shift managers. I would lead a team of 25 drivers on a daily basis. My daily roles were to organise and assign the daily customers’ orders electronically to each of the driver’s PDA’s, pre-scan and load each driver’s vehicle before their shift started, ensuring each employee adhered to the health and safety policies in the depot, whilst completing vehicle checks. I was also the main focal point to help with any queries about delivery orders or any vehicle issues until all drivers had left the depot. During this role, my other responsibilities were to monitor delivery ETA timeframes, regularly reviewing the delivery routes and amending where necessary to maximise productivity and reduce company costs, organising employee rotas, annual leave, appraisals, resourcing and procurement of vehicle parts, booking vehicles in for repair and maintenance, building and maintaining external stakeholder relationships.

  • My general duties included loading all pallets onto the 7.5-ton lorries. I loaded pallets in and out of racking and completed other general warehouse duties. I also had the responsibility of replenishing the vans with fuel and positioning them into the loading bays, where I then loaded with packages ready for when the drivers arrived for their day shift.
