I am currently employed by Semco Maritime as a Production Technician at the Shetland Gas Plant, having been employed in this role since January 2021.
Since completing an electrical apprenticeship in 2019, I was employed as an Electrical Maintenance Technician. In 2021, I took the opportunity to diversify into an operations role, where I have continued to gain additional valuable skills required for this industry.
In the 5 years working in the oil and gas industry, I have obtained numerous industry-relevant qualifications and certificates.

I am now seeking to further my career with Total, where I can contribute my operational expertise, technical knowledge, and strong work ethic to the ongoing success of the Shetland Gas Plant.
Gained experience as a Production Technician , striving for efficiency and safety. With my increasing knowledge and appreciation of plant operations, I am confident to work individually, as well as having established myself as a key part of a team. In this role, I am required to: startup/shutdown equipment, mechanically isolate equipment for maintenance, carry out leak tests, perform routine running checks of systems/areas, liaise with vendors to allow for maintenance of equipment, fault find to ensure minimal downtime of equipment, and sample chemicals for control room/engineers needs - all of which are done in accordance with site standards and procedures. I have experience working with diesel/gas turbine generators, air compression, nitrogen generation, HVAC systems, MEG treatment and injection, effluent water treatment, multiphase separation, and gas compression. In this current job, I also use SAP, CMS documentation and E vision permit systems daily. I was part of the SGP operations and maintenance team that succeeded in 7 years without an LTI.
Carrying out Electrical Maintenance at the Shetland Gas Plant, including: planned work scopes on lighting, small power circuits, motors, heaters and power generation/distribution all in accordance with site and company standards. Assisting in safe operation of plant through cooperation with various trades by performing breakdown repairs, resets and isolations. Executing Ex HAE inspections to guarantee safety and integrity of site equipment.
Gained experience and autonomy as an Electrical Maintenance Technician. Developed key skills and knowledge required to work as part of a maintenance team.
Studied at Forth Valley College in Falkirk, to gain a HNC in Electrical Engineering. Developed an understanding of electrical theory and practical skills. Improved my knowledge of oil and gas exploration, drilling and processing. Gained an appreciation of the importance of safety, communication, and teamwork.
