- Role includes operation of multi-process plant. Main role includes operating an MDF Refiner/Defibrator Which uses steam and rotating discs to transform wood chips into fine, uniform wood fibres for MDF production.
- Operation of the Refiner/Defibrator includes running a raw material infeed system, washplant and dryer system as well as operating and controlling the addition of chemicals and various resins.
- Responsible for running two gas turbines to power the whole of West Fraser plant including both MDF and chipboard lines.
- Also experienced in running industrial boilers and bio-mass fuel plants as well as working on finishing end parts of the plant in the past.
- Working with thermal oil on a daily basis I am part of the fire safety and confined space rescue teams.
- Forklift trained, MEWP trained as well as previously being telehandler trained and on-site shunting of HGVs.
- Conducted routine checks on machinery, identifying potential issues before they escalated into problems.
