• I started with MAN Energy Solutions as a senior engineer and was promoted to Superintendent 18 months later. I work as 2 Stroke Superintendent and cross over to 4 stroke when needed. I attend vessels where ever Port call they have and will either diagnose problems, carry out repairs and maintain their vessel management maintenance program. These repairs are mainly carried out on all types of vessels but also carry over to power stations and dry docks. The emphasis with all engines is to maintain and make as fuel efficient as possible and with the dual fuel engines this is most important all repairs are carried efficiently, in budget and on time.

• Required to travel too customer sites and to complete any mechanical repairs and maintenance to various equipment. This could include conveyors, pumps, industrial gearboxes, pumps and main engine power generators. Scopes include outages and shutdowns and complete on time with all work tested and approved.
• Also when not working at customer sites, I will be based at the workshop to complete any refurbishment of engine parts, gearbox, pump and mechanical equipment for customers.
• Customer sites includes power generation, aggregates, petrochemical, process plants, utilities and more.

• Travel offshore and abroad to various clients to inspect and maintain all lifeboat, davits, winches and lifesaving appliances.

• Responsible for the day to day running of the engine room.
• Follow the maintenance and perform all necessary work and breakdowns to any mechanical equipment including engines, pumps, cranes, winches, lifeboats, and all auxiliary equipment associated with a semi sub rig.
• Follow all weekly drills and safety meetings. Raise permit to work and follow company policies and procedures.
• Complete all required training as per crew position.

• Direct and control all functions as offshore hydraulic/mechanic service engineer which includes travelling worldwide to any location to promptly resolve issues on Seatrax cranes.
• Monitor efficient working of all hydraulic equipment and troubleshoot any mechanical/ hydraulic part on the crane; completing hose change outs, load testing, commissioning and any other inspection required.
• Manage all communication with team work and ensure adherence to corporate standards. Contribute in the development of new cranes from scratch which includes making appropriate hoses and pumps, hydraulic motors and any other component needed for building new cranes.

• Rigorously inspected onshore and offshore customer sites to service and overhaul air compressors, air dryers, and vacuum pumps on an industrial size to ensure smooth operations.
• Performed other duties assigned which included commissioning new air compressors on site and revalidating customer's equipment as well as testing the quality of breathing air.
• Harnessed in-depth technical knowledge to evaluate all performance requirements according to customer specifications and provided resolution according to standard procedures.

• Skillfully conducted the overhaul and maintenance of all diesel generators and main engines including fuel pumps and injectors, piston changes, purifiers and OWS. Fully conversant with all steam systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and basic electrical skills.
• Oversaw the periodic running of a modern day engine room and deck. Enforced company policies and Health and Safety regulations and standards, promoting safety culture on board. Maintained safety equipment and developed policies and plans to reduce employee risk.

• Successfully passed High Voltage Course for Competent persons and participated in several courses at Royal Fleet Auxiliary. Ensured that all orders received from the officer of the deck are promptly and properly executed.
• Reported to the officer of the deck and the engineer officer of any actual or probable derangement of machinery, boilers, or auxiliaries which may affect the proper operation of the ship.
• Meticulously inspected engines, boilers, and their auxiliaries; ensuring that pre-scribed tests, methods of operation, and instructions pertaining to the safety of personnel and material are strictly observed.

• Performed all functions and activities as 3rd Engineer, working offshore on standby and supply vessels. Inspected shipboard through data collection and configuration validation. Actively participated in regular fire, medical and fast rescue craft drills on a regular basis.
• Ensured the smooth running of the engine room; operated, maintained and oversaw machinery, engineering equipment and vessel systems. Maintained accurate documentation as well as handled engineering manuals, schematics, logs and blueprints in good order.

• Functioned as Field Service Engineer for the northern area of England. Performed tasks included but not limited to servicing, maintaining and effecting repairs of diesel, electric and gas fork trucks.
• Enhanced operational quality results by evaluating and recommending process improvement. Accomplished engineering and organisational mission by completing related results as needed.

I started as an engineering cadet / deckhand and later promoted. This work combined learning as an engineer at sea with all the skill set needed as competent engineer aboard a large fishing vessel.

I started as trainee mechanical fitter working on all sizes of fork trucks. These fork trucks could either be electric, gas or diesel. My work could range from stripping and rebuilding gearboxes and engines to complete rebuilds of the fork truck itself. Occasionally i would be called to perform these duties as a field service engineer.
