I am a software test engineer with nearly a decade of experience spanning the finance, printing, and scientific sectors. I currently work at Lightcast Discovery, where I’ve grown into a leadership role overseeing internal software releases and ensuring seamless integration between our software and microfluidic hardware. I’ve led over 40 releases of our flagship product, expanding what started as small internal reviews into company-wide meetings. In addition to release testing, I act as a technical bridge, supporting scientists, guiding field application engineers, and helping refine a complex, cutting-edge platform for single-cell research.
My role sits at the intersection of testing, support, and systems understanding. I specialize in diagnosing failures, identifying root causes, and working closely with scientists and engineers to strengthen the product both in house and in the field. I thrive in fast-paced environments where I can take ownership, build relationships, and improve systems from the ground up.
Outside of work, I’m a dedicated father of two boys and a passionate animal lover. I spend my free time training my dogs, caring for my coral reef tank, and diving into home renovation and DIY projects. Whether debugging software or fixing something around the house, I’m always driven by curiosity and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
At Lightcast Discovery, I’ve developed deep expertise in testing both embedded software and front end applications across complex microfluidic instruments. Over the years, my role has expanded beyond hands-on testing to include leading software releases, providing cross-functional technical support, and acting as a key liaison between software teams, scientists, and field engineers especially ensuring that assays are successful.
At Global Graphics, I played a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our flagship product, the Smart Print Controller, as well as other internal and commercial software projects. Starting as a Test Engineer and progressing to Test Lead, I was responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive test plans that streamlined the development lifecycle. I focused on identifying potential issues early, testing new features thoroughly, and ensuring compatibility across multiple platforms. By incorporating TestComplete automation, I significantly improved test efficiency and reduced testing time by 50%.
As a Graduate Tester at WorkSmart, I gained valuable experience writing test cases and executing tests for a web-based product. This role marked my first step in a career as a Software Tester and equipped me with a strong foundation in software testing principles and techniques. Working in a fast-paced environment, I developed critical skills in attention to detail, problem-solving and collaboration that have
proven invaluable throughout my career.
