Accomplishments

During the pandemic I was seconded to work with the Learning disability Social work team, during my time there I had my own case load that I prioritised and worked through. I worked on a duty rota providing support for people calling in either looking for advice or in crisis, it was my responsibility to either escalate this to a senior social worker or give appropriate advice/support myself.

One of my main responsibilities was keeping in touch with service users and their family or support provider, during the restrictions many day services were closed and support providers were being stretched to their limits. this was also having an impact on families and the person. Where appropriate I would request emergency respite or budget requests to increase support hours.

I would regularly chair and minute core action reviews, and assess the needs of people supported by social work services. This would also involve keeping electronic records updated and collaborate with other health and social care professions.

I am currently studying an open university degree, Health and Social care. I study part time.
