Bar Waitress

The Clifden
06.2021 - 08.2021
  • Originally when starting this job, it was during the final stages of the Covid lockdown where customers were not allowed to get up to order drinks or food from the bar, meaning that my job required me to start with table service
  • This entailed taking drinks and food to customer’s tables and clearing and cleaning the tables when customers had finished
  • The Clifden, however, was a very popular pub during this time and was extremely high pressure with the timings of service meaning that I was consistently serving customers and satisfying their needs
  • Once the lockdown eased I was then bar trained which entailed making drinks for customers, taking food orders, money organisation and opening and closing the bar as well as the rest of the pub
  • As a pub worker there is a lot of responsibility to provide excellent service but to also keep the work place clean and safe however, I learnt how to do this to exceptional standards very quickly thus meaning the managers trusted me with doing things such as opening and closing the bar
  • It was an extremely enjoyable job which allowed me to work on my customer service skills as well as allowing me to develop my understanding of how a popular chain of service works and extending my knowledge on how sales work in this industry.

  • Working as a Personal Assistant at a clothing company allowed me to being highly skilled in administration work by using different softwares

  • While working as a Counter Assistant I was able to gather my first experiences with food handling in a work place which meant organisation, hygiene and timing had to perfect
  • This fish bar was extremely busy on weekends which meant I was working in a high pressure environment while interacting kindly to customers and also dealing with money and mathematics, thus showing my skills of providing good service in a workplace.

  • Being a Christmas Temporary worker for this retail company gave me a completely new experience within the work industry
  • I experienced the most busy and demanding time in retail, yet it was extremely enjoyable as I love interacting with customers- which boosted my customer service skills- working in fashion and giving advice to the customers and also experiencing working on tills and in deliveries (the returning and sorting out parcels)
  • Throughout the time I was at Topshop I was able to work in an amazing team, which every day was different due to all the employee’s that work at the company
  • This enabled me to enjoy work more thoroughly and most importantly work in a larger team than I am used to.
