Communication

• Ability to work within an multidisciplinary team by identifying women and families with specific and complex needs, providing appropriate care, referring to relevant agencies and support services and working in partnership when required This includes formally referring women to consultant obstetricians, general practitioners and other midwives and professionals
• Encouraging and promoting good staff relationships demonstrated by actively participating as a member of the team, to achieve goals and objectives

Education training & development

• Develop clinical knowledge and practical skills to enhance my knowledge base demonstrated by maintaining up to date knowledge of national & local guidelines and becoming actively involved with changes in practice and service development opportunities
• Support students during clinical placements by following SSSA standards and identify learning opportunities to enable the achievement of learning objectives, undertaking the role of a practice supervisor
