Internal responsibilities

Head of School-Wide Debating Society

Entails a large amount of responsibility, such as:

  • Organising multiple bi-weekly sessions, both for the junior and senior cohorts.
  • Controlling large crowds, typically consisting of over 30 people.
  • Ensuring smooth operation of the tasks whilst also partaking in them myself.
  • Organised an inter-school debate between our Sixth Form team and Kendrick School, amassing an audience of over 60.
  • In my position, I also had the pleasure of formulating, and organising our EYP (European Youth Parliament) delegation for the competition at Leighton Park School. This consisted of three sessions per week whilst also narrowing down the 20~ prospective candidates to a final shortlist of 8. Helped me develop crucial skills in regards to communication and letting people down easily whilst mitigating any sadness or annoyance they may feel.

Co-Head of Politics Society

  • Responsible for organising weekly sessions, and maintaining a rota of future sessions.
  • Had the huge privilege of meeting the Ex-Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party Sir Ranil Jayawardena , and subsequently helping lead a talk from him to our students.
