  • Provide expert advice, information and support to senior managers, clinicians and committees on matters relating to EPRR and ensure the Trust is kept informed of related national and regional strategic issues.

  • Support other Resilience Team colleagues in the design, development and maintenance of the Resilience intranet site, as an effective resource to Trust staff.
  • Ensure that a robust process is in place for the review and updating of existing plans, ensuring that the plans are adequate in content and format and that any changes are communicated to relevant staff throughout the organisation.
  • Contribute to the production of an annual Trust Training needs analysis (TNA) covering all aspects of EPRR Training across all function and at all levels of the organisation. This will include the review of all role descriptions of key staff involved in the management of internal incidents at least annually to ensure that these remain fit for purpose and meet legislative and the defined requirements within national standards.
  • Develop, support and deliver the agreed EPRR training programme and provide regular performance / delivery reports to the Trust Resilience Assurance Committee.
  • Responsible for the evaluation of the Trust’s response to emergency situations and / or business continuity in the event of system failure (planned or unplanned)
  • Lead on the development of and implementation of new policies, plans and protocols or revise existing documents, where required. These policies, plans and protocols have implications and impact on the whole organisation and also impact on external organisations including non NHS organisations.
  • Regularly undertake research and audit of EPRR initiatives which will have an impact on departments and organisations outside of Corporate Operations and the wider Trust.
  • Responsible for developing a comprehensive and organisation driven business continuity management infrastructure to ensure that the Trust can continue to deliver critical services to predetermined levels following an incident.
  • In the event of an incident that requires the activation of the hospital’s incident coordination team, undertake the role of Tactical Support Advisor, providing support, guidance and leadership during both internal and external incident situations.
  • Following any significant incident, organise and lead a debriefing session for staff involved making note of discussion outcomes and amending policies accordingly. Ensure that any changes in policy, arrangements and training are enacted and communicated across the organisation and partner organisations.
  • Participate (as required) in the Tactical Support On-Call rota.
  • Work with other Resilience Assurance Committee (RAC) members to develop a set of Compliance Performance Indicators to use to monitor delivery and compliance with key outputs and requirements.

  • Under the direction of the Head of Organisational Resilience I work as part of the Trust wide network of Business Continuity Leads to ensure the Trust meets its statutory obligations under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (CCA) and complies with all relevant Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response (EPRR) guidance for the NHS, including non statutory guidance that accompanies the CCA and also for business and resilience preparedness.
