My experience in this job role is interesting and varied. Daily, I admit children onto the ward, preparing for medical and surgical procedures. During their time at the hospital, I keep an eye on their vitals- eg blood pressure and important observations. I adapt my interactions and communication to children that are less able to understand me. I really like my job as it welcomes a variety of challenges with children and parent/carers. I am always willing to undertake responsibilities throughout my day, by the end of the day I feel accomplished.

During the time working at this school, I really enjoyed my job role and responsibilities that came with it. Whilst working as a Sen Teaching Assistant, I became very proud of myself and the work and training I had already studied to better my knowledge around SEN. Working as a 1:1 assistant made me very aware of the different abilities a child has and that they are amazing to want to learn with struggles in and around them. Everyday I would work alongside the teacher in the class, at a station with the child. Working in the classroom with the child proved difficult at times but I managed to use techniques to ensure the child was safe and comfortable at all times. I would feedback to the child's parents at the end of each day and give them an update to how the day went. Building a parent partnership is something I have used in most jobs roles whilst working with children.

Whilst in my role as a Nursery Practitioner, I carried out a variety of responsibilities. Setting up activities for my key children to learn was a big stage in their learning development and I was very proud to document and be a part of that. Caring for children aged six months to four years of age came with all different challenges and tasks. I had two key children with Autism and I had to make sure to care for them to suit their needs which I found rather interesting and rewarding. I faced some tricky situations with parents and I dealt with them appropriately and accordingly. At the end of the day, I gave information to parents about their child's day and built a good, professional parent partnership.
