At present I am working as Deputy Manager at a 52 bedded Nursing Home. My roles include managing the Home in the managers absence, carrying out audits, completing the nurses rota, reviewing and writing resident care plans and risk assessments, potential;/new resident assessments, carrying out CQC notifications and safeguarding. I carry out resident dependency score, take part in funding reviews and work closely with the Care Homes Team and the local GP's.

I mange and support a team of eight nurses, ensuring that there training is update, booking training, carrying out assessment competencies and mentoring new member of staff and students.

I am the medication lead which involves ordering the monthly medications and carrying out the monthly medications changeover. I carry out medication audits, including control medications, train staff and carry out medication competencies yearly for all staff who administer medications. I have completed the Palliative care course and was voted Nurse of the Year but came second place.

Experience in carrying out supervisions with members of the nursing and care team. Due to managing a team, I have experience with facilitating conflict resolution among employees, helping to promote a harmonious work environment.

I carried out infection control audits. I was the basic life support link and trainer.

Carried out nurse lead clinics for chemotherapy patients and help support the out patient department by checking blood results, scans and booking appointments. I worked closely with Specialist Nurse in supporting patients.

Skills learnt include, cannulation, venepuncture, PICC lines, Port-A-Cath lines, organisational skills when in charge of the unit and developed confidence when talking to groups of people. I enhanced teaching skills being the basic life support, cannulation and venepuncture link.
