I have worked in the asset finance industry for 15 years and have a lot of knowledge and experience with all aspects of the sector. My roles have ranged but I have predominantly worked in the document/pay out side of the business. I am skilled at analysing lending activities according to current regulations, standards and market conditions. I have great communication skills and have built strong relationships with both internal and external colleagues.
I have a great eye for detail when looking at documentation and generating legal documentation and ensure procedures and policies are thoroughly met.
I worked in the credit department for an asset finance broker which consisted of a team of two.
My main responsibility was to pre underwrite proposals/deals which were generated by the sales team of circa 25 account managers. Once i had pre underwrote a deal I then formally proposed this to a relevant lender and secured a decision. The deals which I looked and controlled until approved ranged from approx. £1K - £2.5m. I worked closely with internal and external sales and managed good relationships with the lenders that sat on the funding panel.
I would often have customer facing meeting with lenders who were looking to approve a finance offer.
I worked closely with the Head of Operations and the manging director and kept up to date with all of he new products/rates and policies.
I was very competent with the bespoke CRM system the business used and used different lenders online portals to send customer applications. I also sent manual proposals for the larger transactions which required full detailed business write ups and commentary around the companies financial position.
I managed the operations team which consisted of around 5 people. Their roles were a hybrid role which was a mixture of sales support and some credit team responsibilities. The team supported the sales team with their deals from proposal stage right through to completion stage. I offered support and trained each member of the team in every way I could to improve any areas where they required development.
I reported into the Finance Director and had a important responsibility to close off month end and make decisions around what deals the business could book into every month.
I maintained smooth-running business operations by delegating responsibilities and tasks based on to team members abilities.
I assessed and conducted annual appraisals with the team and discussed development paths.
I worked in a team of 6 and supported the sales team with the administration aspect of their deals. This entailed providing quotes, chasing customer & suppliers, generating documentation etc. The role required organisation, meeting deadlines and working under pressure.
As the office junior I was tasked to keep the office today and be on hand to help with any administration tasks. I set up meeting rooms for both internal and external meetings. Answered the telephone and transferred calls. Organised the filing system and made sure that everything was up to date and easily accessible.
