Lara Johnson

This position carries a great deal of responsibility.
During my stay at this setting, I was in responsible for managing the number of children and employing the appropriate staff to maintain ratios.
I was in charge of filling staff absences and holidays in the room.
In addition to supervising the toddler room and a team of five staff members, this was a challenging yet stimulating experience for me.
I've gained so much in this role, but personally I'd like to grow further into an educational environment, as I'm presently studying for my education degree and would like to pursue this as a future career.

• I have previously worked as pre school room leader in Little stars Nursery
• I feel as though I really thrived in this role as I had a vision for the room and future aspirations
• I learned valuable skills of delegation and leading a team
• As well as organising a large group of children
• Watching the children become independent and thrive in my room was a pleasure
• I built strong relationships with families and amazing bonds with the children
• I learned how to liaise with outside agencies and management
• I had my first ofstead inspection at this setting and feel as though I am very knowledgeable of the current expectations
• I learned so much at this nursery and I was given the opportunity to come into my own as a practitioner
• I am knowledgable of the current framework, observations, planning, next steps, characteristics and schemas
• I would love a nursery as welcoming and supportive as this one as I feel I have lots to give to any early years setting
• Of course any early years roles come with challenges, however, I feel this role strengthened me to overcome difficult situations.

• This setting is where I completed my level two and three early year's qualification
• I am very grateful for the opportunities I received at this setting
• As I learned all the foundations for early years here and this is where my passion for childcare really grew
• I gained the majority of my SEN experience at this setting , I have knowledge of the referral process and how to make accurate target plans for children who are in need of extra support
• I learned to work as a team, to be confident in my knowledge and be able to express myself as a practitioner.
