I joined Shojin Property Partners in September 2023 as a junior investment analyst.

As part of this role I took on a variety of different tasks. One aspect of my role included evaluating potential property investments using past performance and technical indicators, such as profit-on-cost, loan to value, loan to cost and return on investment. As part of my analysis I would also use excel to build financial models and generate cash flows.

Another key part of my role involved determining the risks involved in any of the firms future investments. To do this, I would use various models and metrics to generate a risk assessment. For instance, I'd use the probability of default model to assess the risk of default on a particular investment. Alongside this, I'd perform a sensitivity analysis on each prospective investment opportunity.

During my time at the company, I also engaged in client work. I would regularly gather market feedback from clients in order to improve services offered and also provided recommendations to clients regarding potential investments, risk tolerances and time frames.

In August 2021, I completed a six-week internship at Carbonyte Limited, a fintech company.

I served as an analyst at Carbonyte Limited and specialised in Fintech research. The primary purpose behind this research was to evaluate market competition, such as Tide and Monzo, and to also drive new and creative business strategies.

I also collaborated with the senior team on creating pitch decks and proposals that were presented to investors for capital raising and joint ventures.
