• Lead and manage the IT function in a highly effective and efficient way, working closely with key stakeholders to deliver the strategic priorities and outcomes of WAT.
• Develop and implement the IT strategy for WAT, embedding best practices, implementing standardised cyber secure systems, processes, procedures, and robust quality assurance arrangements to ensure compliance in all areas.
• Technically managing the IT team, infrastructure, systems, security, and service delivery to provide a safe, secure, and stimulating digital learning environment to unlock children's and young people’s academic and personal potential.

• This post is much needed to add direction and impetus to the development of our IT infrastructure and its use in Teaching and Learning and within professional services. The role will be responsible to the Head of Planning and Project Delivery and onwards to the Executive team.
• Once appointed the role will work on the development and implementation of a strategic approach to IT. Whilst there is a general direction of travel envisaged it is expected that the appointment will be able to use their knowledge, insight, and experience to ensure that our vision for IT is achieved in the most effective way.
• There are many pressure points that occur in IT that often require intense periods of work. Therefore one of the key priorities will be to support the newly appointed Head of Planning and Project Delivery in identifying these in advance so that resources can be allocated effectively to meet this challenge. Part of this will include developing roles and expertise that support each school and facilitation of projects/work across our family of schools. In addition to this, there is a need to develop our Apple expertise in light of the 1:1 device initiative so this will also be a priority in establishing in-house expertise.

To be responsible for/manage the operation and delivery of ICT services with the school, to manage the planning, development, and monitoring of these services, and to manage staff, including performance management and delegation of relevant activities.

Brief Overview of Duties

Manage Engineering Department

• 10 IT Technicians that were deployed across all clients all over the UK.
• Develop training programs for Technicians
• Oversight and Management of Technician Daily Duties.
• Resolve issues with installations and client relationships as required.
• Develop all processes and procedures for the Engineering IT Technicians.
• Undertake Engineering tasks as necessary.

Manage Logistics Service

• Manage the logistics staff members.
• Implement and manage the WEEE recycling and disposal service.
• Coordinate daily schedules of Logistics Service.

Stock Control Management

• Manage stock control staff
• Implement effective stock control processes and procedures
• Oversight of daily workloads and audits as necessary.

Workshop Engineering Service

• Manage the workshop staff and the service workloads.
• Ensure that effective systems and processes are put into place.
• Manage quotations, repairs, and service provision for workshop-based services.

Financial Management

• Implement, complete and coordinate stock/parts purchasing.
• Ensure all service invoicing is accurate and implemented for all responsible services.

Consultancy

• Provide consultancy services to clients.
• Design, quote and implement IT system solutions and installations.
• Undertake the implementation of designed solutions authorised by clients.
