Dedicated professional with a strong foundation in manufacturing engineering, adept at applying JIT manufacturing principles and value analysis to optimise production processes. Demonstrates exceptional communication skills within manufacturing settings, facilitating effective supplier communication and collaboration with engineering teams. Experienced in JT2GO and committed to maintaining high manufacturing standards, with a focus on responsibility and hard work.
I’ve had the opportunity to work on exciting projects that pushed me both technically and personally. My role in Manufacturing Engineering allowed me to contribute to major programmes, including the JEA project (new jaguar car copy nothing), while learning how engineering decisions directly impact a JIT automotive supply chain.
Key highlights from my placement:
• Designed and developed a shrink wrap conveyor system to return empty pallets while reducing FLT traffic in the warehouse.
• Supported the AGV integration project, including sourcing and extending conveyor systems to optimise material flow.
• Provided support in running AGVs, ensuring smooth operation on the shop floor and resolving challenges as they arose.
• Instructed to create new, successful boxes for the AGV loop, ensuring compatibility with automated handling while improving durability and efficiency.
• Designed a return BKB (big kitting box) conveyor system to improve process flow in the JIT assembly line for AGVs, reducing manual handling and enhancing production efficiency.
• Worked on logistics solutions, from sourcing new suppliers for access panel boxes to designing new sleeves for JEA.
• Produced shopstock and pool stock calculations, floor space studies, and savings assessments to support cost efficiency.
• Gained hands-on experience with BricsCAD and JT2Go, applying my academic skills in CAD design and layout planning to solve real-world manufacturing problems.
• Presented engineering solutions to management and suppliers, strengthening my communication and project management skills.
