I strive to be a dedicated professional in whatever I choose to do. I have always loved the company of people and have been the "go to " when friends were in need of support, advice or just a listening ear.
Within my current hospitality role, I am tasked with assisting event preparation, catering coordination and positive engagement with guests. I understand the importance of adhering to the health and safety policies set by my organisation. It is my responsibility to continually risk assess as I carry out my role to ensure the utmost safety of guests and my colleagues alike. I also assist in the training and development of new recruits and this is an aspect that I particularly enjoy. Mentoring other young people is very satisfying as they start with little knowledge and low confidence to quickly develop their communication and task efficiency skills to a high standard in order that they, in turn, can train and coach others effectively.
For my Work Experience last year at school, I joined the Luton Football Club Junior Team in a Safeguarding capacity. Under professional supervision, I spoke with them individually about their personal concerns around entering a profession fraught with complex issues and how they might navigate them, what help they might seek and where they might find appropriate support, particularly in relation to their mental health.
This year, I gained many and varied work experiences with Camp Costa Rica 2025, where I joined an expedition to help impoverished communities. The trip lasted for one month and I worked alongside 26 others as a team to improve the environments on agricultural sites, in schools, community homes and environmental projects. The work was tough, both physically and mentally though very fulfilling as I could see the positive difference I was making to the lives of real families and world ecology.
I feel it was this entire once in a lifetime adventure that served to seal my determination to pursue a people centered career.

Upon starting my role in hospitality as a junior, I had to step up when two seniors left the premises without giving notice. I took on both their roles and the business owner awarded me seniority and doubled my wages despite my young age.
Towards the end of our expedition to Costa Rica, the collective mood of our group was very low due to exhaustion and home sickness, I came up with the idea of organising and putting on a talent show. Almost everyone took part and even the ones choosing to just watch enjoyed it immensely. I was commended by my Group Leader/Teacher for creating one of the major highlights of the trip and raising the spirits of the whole team to end our shared 'once in a lifetime' experience.
