Summary

I am an ST7 Trauma and Orthopaedics trainee with broad experience managing elective and acute trauma cases. My training began in Malta in 2020, after which I was selected through a competitive interview to complete two years of higher surgical training in Oxford. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong foundation in surgical decision-making, technical proficiency, and collaborative, patient-centred care.

I have progressively taken on greater responsibility in theatre, clinic, and on-call environments, and I am currently preparing to sit the FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination. I remain committed to reflective practice, continuous professional development, and contributing to a safe and effective clinical service.

In addition to my clinical work, I have undertaken several leadership and organisational roles. I managed the middle-grade rota during my trauma rotation at the John Radcliffe Hospital, ensuring adequate service provision. I coordinated morbidity and mortality meetings in Malta's Trauma and Orthopaedics Department, and organised patient discussions for the "Young Adult Knee" multidisciplinary team meeting at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. I also served as the departmental representative for the COVID-19 Liaison Team during the pandemic. I value these opportunities as they have strengthened my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills—qualities essential for the next stage of my surgical career.
