Senior Room Manager

Busy Bees Nursery
Coventry
2010.09 - 2015.07

As a Senior Room Manager it was crucial I understood and respected the need for consistency of care for children by providing a safe, supportive and caring environment. I had to ensure that all aspects of each individual child’s development were given full consideration. I was responsible for overseeing the baby room, which had 12 babies a day, and supporting 3 members of staff alongside myself. I ensured that all staff were proactive in the process of activity planning, child observation and development records on a regular basis. I was also the Assisting SENCO at Busy Bees which includes responsibilities such as attending CAF and Early support meetings for children with additional needs and troubled families. I also support the SENCO when ensuring individual education plans were implemented effectively.

Daycare Teacher

Lollipops Educare
Auckland, New Zealand
2012.03 - 2013.03

Working in New Zealand was a new challenge with similar responsibilities to Busy Bees. Responsibilities included being an effective key person to children assigned to you, being a positive role model and ensure daily practice meets and aims to exceed requirements. I ensured that communication with children, parents and the staff team was polite and courteous at all times. The biggest expectation was to take responsibility for continued professional development by attending in house and external training, receiving constructive feedback and reading relevant material to better my knowledge. I learnt a whole new culture, language and way of life during this travelling year.
