In my years from 2023 - 2026 working as a technical craftsperson in the HV test centre in Deeside, my main role was to inspect and test Live Line rubber PPE,tools and electrical test equipment/instruments, as well as performing dielectric testing of the Live Line trucks and it's auxiliary equipment

Testing up to 75kv, safety is paramount and I performed daily checks on the test equipment to ensure that it is fit for purpose and safe to use

Working within a small team of 5 members, and as one of only twenty qualified operatives working in the UK, the team had to maintain and service each depot in the SPD and SPM ( Manweb & Scotland) regions, performing on site testing of Live working tools, equipment and Live Line trucks over a rolling 12 month programme

I also took the responsibility to help maintain and repair the generator leads, pods and connectors, helping a quick turnaround process for them to be returned to the allocated depots
