Every Thursday lunchtime, some classmates and I would travel to a nearby primary school to assist teachers with different tasks they had. We would arrive at around 13:00 and leave at 14:30 and during this time it would be packed with different tasks for us to do. This ranged from reading with younger children to helping older children with their work typically in maths or english, in addition to this we would also help teachers during exam times and other busy periods where we had to help file papers and mark quizzes. During my time as an assistant, I learned how to communicate with both younger students and teachers while also being able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability on whichever task was assigned to me.
Every Sunday, I would work at my local tennis club from 10:00-13:00. I would help by assisting the coach in instructing a group of children aged around 4-9 years old. I would help out by setting out different activities, engaging and playing against the children and overall teaching them and helping them improve their skills. On certain tournament days, I would help umpire the games ensuring games were fun and fair while also also arranging matches prior to the events. In addition during long holidays, I would volunteer for their half day tennis camps where I would help by playing tennis against the children and helping them hone their techniques. During this experience as a tennis coach, I have learnt how to interact with others to organise and arrange events while also having the chance to learn how to reach out to children and socialise with parents.
During a week in my summer holidays, I took part in an shadowing week at Commerzbank's Law department. During my time in the law department, I gained valuable exposure to both legal and financial matters in a bank. I was tasked to conduct research into infamous historic financial cases and developed a presentation to explain my key findings. My work also involved reviewing letters relating to phishing attempts and cases of lost bank accounts, which strengthened my ability to identify attempts of fraud and assess different types of documentation. I also participated in a meeting on using carbon dioxide certificates in trading and leverage, here I contributed by presenting a short Powerpoint on what these certificates were and how they would play a vital role in the future of trading. In addition, I shadowed every team members, gaining knowledge on their responsibilities and the parts they played in this team. Overall, this experience allowed me to develop skills in legal document review, fraud detection, and professional presentation delivery, while also giving me a strong understanding of the importance of the legal department in the financial sector.

Organising and arranging events:
Having volunteered at a local tennis club which frequently held open days and tournaments, I was able to help out by arranging and planning some events during times where original plans went wrong Through this experience I have learnt how to cater to different needs as well as working under time pressure to arrange events last minute or on the spot
Teaching and mentoring:
Although currently I have only had the experience of working and mentoring younger ages, through both voluntary and paid work with children ages varying from 4 - 13, I have gained valuable experience on how to explain and teach in an effective and easy way
