As an IQA, it is my responsibility to oversee the delivery of H&SC qualifications and guarantee focus on supporting continuous development of practice to ensure all learners receive a positive learning experience. My role lies predominantly in support, ensuring assessors practice in line with Awarding Body, Welsh Government and Estyn requirements. I manage sampling and verification activities across both qualifications, and contribute to the development of best practice by designing and delivering standardisation sessions. I conduct IQA observations of assessors. I also assist the lead IQA in coordinating EQA visits. I am also an active assessor, in relation to both H&SC and TAQA qualifications.
I began my career with Home Instead, providing domiciliary services to enable my clients to live well at home. I quickly progressed to Senior CAREGiver, then was further promoted to full time office staff. My main role was to source, interview and recruit CAREGivers. I also have experience writing care plans, undertaking care consultations and service reviews, and completing risk assessments. As a CAREGiver, my duties included medications support, personal care, home help, life story work, providing meaningful companionship and more.
I became a full time carer for my mother following a period of ill health which left her disabled. She is also living with mental ill-health and required support with all day-to-day activities. I provided emotional and physical support to maintain well-being. Responsibilities included personal care, medication, reablement, medication and financial support
