I am a first and foremost a class teacher who has always had a passion for building positive relationships with children and their families to identify and support children SEND. In gaining my recent NASENCo Award, I have a sound understanding of the SEND Code Of Practice and policy and procedures at national, local and school level. I demonstrate effective communication skills and have a proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of specialist services and teams in order to achieve the best outcomes and provision for every child and their families. I have always been an aspirational leader who has prioritised my own CPD to progress within my field. I am knowledgeable, experienced yet reflective and proactive. In my teaching career, I have always juggled multiple roles within my school. This means I am highly skilled, resilient, motivated and able to prioritise workloads to meet statutory deadlines in fast-paced environments. In my role as SENCo, I am experienced and competent in writing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing EHCPs, PEPs, Early Help and TAF meetings. I always ensure compliance with legislation and positively challenge and work with others when this is not upheld. I have strong interpersonal skills. I am approachable, reliable, consistent and committed to building positive relationships with parents, children and agencies to ensure they feel heard and supported.
