I am a first and foremost a class teacher who has always had a passion for building positive relationships with children and their families to identify and support children SEND. In gaining my recent NASENCo Award, I have a sound understanding of the SEND Code Of Practice and policy and procedures at national, local and school level. I demonstrate effective communication skills and have a proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of specialist services and teams in order to achieve the best outcomes and provision for every child and their families. I have always been an aspirational leader who has prioritised my own CPD to progress within my field. I am knowledgeable, experienced yet reflective and proactive. In my teaching career, I have always juggled multiple roles within my school. This means I am highly skilled, resilient, motivated and able to prioritise workloads to meet statutory deadlines in fast-paced environments. In my role as SENCo, I am experienced and competent in writing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing EHCPs, PEPs, Early Help and TAF meetings. I always ensure compliance with legislation and positively challenge and work with others when this is not upheld. I have strong interpersonal skills. Headteacher maternity leave for her first and second child meant the Deputy Head in post in 2019 stepped up to be Headteacher and myself as Deputy Head in both instances.
