Independent Research Project: Quantum Computing & Cryptography
Conducted a self-directed research project analysing the feasibility of breaking RSA encryption using quantum algorithms (Shor’s algorithm), including classical simulations and performance comparison. Wrote a 30+ page technical report and presented findings in an academic setting.
Temperature Alarm System (Arduino) — Poster Presentation
Independently designed and built a temperature monitoring and alarm system using Arduino, DS18B20 sensor, LCD display, and buzzer. Collected and analysed experimental data to validate precision, and presented findings in a college poster session.
DEG Agent AI Hackathon — Finalist (4th Place)
Designed and presented a decision-based optimisation system for scheduling compute workloads based on energy price, carbon intensity, and execution windows. Developed backend logic to prioritise and defer tasks under cost and carbon constraints, making explicit assumptions about pricing and workload flexibility. Presented the solution to industry executives and stakeholders.
Music Ear-Training Tool (Personal Project)
Developed a small program to generate random musical notes and exercises to support ear-training practice for music exams. Shared informally with peers in music school.
Samsung Innovation Campus Hackathon — Participant
Contributed to a team project exploring an interactive, animation-driven learning platform inspired by Khan Academy to improve access to education in Kazakhstan.
