Reliable and dedicated biomedical sciences (Bsc) graduate currently working in cGMP gene-therapy manufacturing. My academic background includes experience in molecular biology, including PCR/qPCR, immunofluorescence staining, cell and tissue culture, as well as a solid understanding of experimental design and laboratory procedures.
In the interim to gain valuable work-life experience, my professional experience throughout my studies is primarily in hospitality and retail. This has given me transferable skills in team collaboration, attention to detail and time-management, essential for maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a GLP and GMP environment.
Furthermore, experience in fast-paced environments has developed my ability to manage tasks efficiently, taking initiative to ensure effective problem-solving and maintaining strong resilience under pressure. I am self-motivated to adapt to new situations and committed to continuous learning, which is crucial in the everchanging world of science. I am eager to apply my scientific knowledge and passion for innovative research to contribute to a dynamic lab team.
Supervised lab-based dissertation project: Investigating the molecular mechanisms of genetic predisposition to corneal thinning.
I have previously volunteered as an Academic Mentor at Off the Curriculum, supporting and guiding A-level students through their Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) dissertation, assisting with skill development in research, academic writing and critical analysis. This involved working collaboratively with students' to achieve their project goals. Furthermore, I volunteered with Pint of Science UK 2025, assisting in the organisation and promotion of the successful and thought-provoking Pint of Science events.
