Enthusiastic early years educator with a degree in Childhood Studies (BSc) and one year of hands-on experience working with children aged 2–3 in a nursery setting. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of child development and the importance of nurturing, supportive environments in the early years. This experience has strengthened my passion for working with young children and sparked my commitment to continuing a career in early childhood education. I am eager to further develop my skills and contribute to a team that values creating engaging, inclusive spaces where children can thrive. This role represents an exciting opportunity to combine my academic knowledge, practical experience, and genuine enthusiasm to support children and make a meaningful impact.
During my year at Busy Bees I have been based with the 2-3 year olds, supporting their development and helping them to achieve important early milestones. I developed strong, trusting bonds with my key children by taking the time to understand their individual personalities, interests and needs. I recognised the importance of children's individuality and used this understanding to deliver fun and engaging activities to support their learning. This role has sparked my enthusiasm of working in early years setting and taught me many valuable skills. The role has strengthened my observational skills, as I regularly monitored children’s progress and documented their achievements. I have also gained strong communication skills within daily interactions with parents, children and colleagues. I have learnt the importance of safeguarding and ensuring that children feel invited into safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.
This role included administrative tasks such as emails and phones calls, helping customers frequently with general enquiries. This role also required organised spreadsheets to ensure management could easily view what groups were booked in and when.
While I initially began working at Crocky Trail as an ice cream assistant. I became the manager of this field in 2021.
A hobby of mine for 7 years was Kart racing with Tarporley Karting Team. This involved competing around the country within the National Schools Karting Championship, working alongside my team to support and motivate each other. As I became a more experienced driver when I was 16 years old, I had the rewarding opportunity to work alongside the younger kart drivers, helping them to develop their skills and grow within the sport. This experience allowed me to mentor aspiring athletes every Wednesday at my High School, providing guidance and support as they navigated the challenges of competitive karting. This involved effective communication with children much younger than me, to find a balance between building strong friendly relationships and setting important boundaries surrounding health and safety, rules and regulations. I really enjoyed this role which I believe set the foundation for my enthusiasm of working with children.
