I am a enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner skilled at providing exciting and engaging learning activities to cater for wide range of learning abilities. I see myself as being very passionate in nurturing social and creative development in children. I am able to apply my knowledge in child behaviour management to provide safe, positive classroom spaces for enriching learning experiences.

Possesses in depth knowledge of child development and the EYFS.

Holder of a Paediatric First Aid certificate.


In October 2023 I am due to start studying a BA (Honours) in Primary Education Studies. I could not be more thrilled to embark on this next step in my career.

  • Communicated daily observations with guardians, maintaining detailed development records. Completed termly assessments and reports on the children, and followed these up with a parent's evening.
  • Applied Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework knowledge to drive curriculum attainment. Developed a strong child led planning system for my classroom to ensure all children's learning needs were being met.
  • Created safe and stimulating outdoor learning environments. I am currently leading weekly forest school sessions to a small group of children. This is something I would like to expand on during my next career change.
  • Tracked and assessed learning journeys using Nursery Management Software. (fully trained in both Tapestry and Blossom programmes)
  • Discussed behavioural issues with parents offering practical solutions for improved child development.
  • Supported children's development with learning-through-play activities, aiding social, emotional and educational growth.

    Throughout my career in Early Years I have developed a variety of different skills, which have enabled me to constantly develop myself as a practitioner

    Skills:

  • Behaviour management - I am passionate that every child is different and therefore requires different behaviour management techniques I have pro-actively undertaken various training courses to ensure that I maintain excellent standards in this area
  • Curriculum knowledge - I have strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and have planned for, assessed and observed children whilst adhering to the guidelines I am very committed to a progressive approach to Early Years
  • Parent communication - Throughout all of my roles I have maintained a strong relationship with the families of children I educate I believe it is extremely important to work in partnership with parents/carers to achieve the best education and wellbeing for their child
  • Implementing a rich phonics programme - I recently completed a course called 'Early Phonics Project' ran by Leicester County Council This provided me with knowledge from the 'Letters and Sounds' Document I installed this into my setting and provided staff with knowledge and training during a staff meeting
