I am a compassionate individual with strong communication and problem-solving skills. My patients well being is key and I strive to ensure the best possible outcome for them using my knowledge, history taking and diagnostic skills. I enjoy working as part of a team ensuring the best possible care for our patients and clients. I enjoy learning and enveloping new skills and would particularly like to advance in feline medicine and soft tissue surgery.
I have always had a love of animals having grown up on and around my grandmothers smallholding. I presently keep my own flock of pedigree Shropshire sheep which I find really rewarding.
I have enjoyed my time at Castle House but management focus has become poor of late and I feel it is now impacting on my ability to develop my skills. I therefore believe now is the right time to make a change and look to further my career in a new environment.
I worked here as part of a growing team within what was then a relatively new practice. During this time I helped to train a new graduate who had only just started her veterinary career and we are still great friends to this day. After three years I decided I would like to be closer to home and family so relocated to Newcastle Emlyn.
After graduation I started work at CVC having spent many weeks there during vet school. Being part of a large team, communication and team work were key. Initially seeing mixed practice, after two years I made the decision to focus primarily on small animals as I preferred the diversity of the role. Working within a large hospital environment, developing strong team relations were key.
