Part time Front of House whilst in full time education with A Levels due this year. The role consists of working within a team in a busy pub both in the restaurant and the bar. I have to communicate with customers, explain the menu, take orders and serve food and drinks. Dealing with different types of customers each shift has really increased my confidence in customer service. There are always new challenges to overcome.
I qualified as a Football Referee in 2021 and referee football games at the weekend. The role of a referee has allowed me to develop my communication, leadership and teamwork skills. Communication is key on the pitch to allow players, coaches and others to understand the decisions you make and why. Being a referee has really helped with my confidence as my word is the final say, it might not always be the correct but I have to remain confident in my decision.
Part time work during School Holidays. Working for a small team that sells sports kits to local sports clubs. I really enjoyed this work as I have played football for over 10 years and this made it more personal to me. The role included unpacking orders from suppliers and getting them ready to have a logo/number printed. I was involved in all the stages of the order from receiving the kit, to printing the logo to then cross checking the order ready to be sent to the customer. All the orders were dealt with as a team and communication between each other was key to avoid mistakes.
