I worked for 10 years in the Claimant Disease team handling a caseload of litigated and non-litigated files. General day-to-day duties involved face-to-face work with clients, medical experts and counsel but also work on the phone and remotely. I would be involved in meetings with Claimants to provide clarity about the legal process involved in their case and provided comprehensive advice to allow decision making.
I am competent drafting legal documents for court proceedings, ensuring both accuracy and compliance. I developed strong negotiation skills whilst dealing with contentious cases for favourable outcomes, identifying potential risks in each case and mitigating negative impacts where possible.

I was involved in drafting many witness statements, court documents, preparation of trial bundles as part of the group litigation.

I was employed as a Paralegal whilst undertaking my legal studies and worked generally on non-litigated files for claimants pursuing claims for Noise Induced Hearing Loss and Hand/Arm Vibration Syndrome. Also assisted senior solicitors with litigated files and worked towards cost targets.

Negotiated claim settlements with policyholders, coordinated closely with underwriters for accurate policy terms and followed up on lapsed policies, ensuring continuity of coverage for clients.
