  • Reception duties to include answering of office phones, meeting & greeting of food bank customers (often very venerable or DV ), clients, visitors and trustees.
  • All aspects of office administration to include but not limited to: diary management, maintaining & responding to Main Office email, note taking in meetings, typing up of letters, completing of various forms to include Council Tax Reduction requests, Early Help forms, Blue Badge applications, FreeShop Crawley Food Bank application forms along with many others.   • Holding meetings with customers to complete food-bank questionnaires.
  • Signposting customers to relevant services eg: Early Help, Social Services, Housing.
  • Compiling all documentation and setting up of the Weekly Community Cafe Warm Space Project. I was responsible for writing the Staff Handbooks for the Community Cafe project which included food handling procedures. Liaising with the Environmental Health Officer – We obtained a 5* rating
  • Liaising with Internal and External resources to allow to booking of and setting up of Internal and External courses, eg: Mental Health workshops, CAP money workshops.
  • Coordinating and running, along with all other staff members and volunteers, the annual FreeShop Christmas for Food-bank Customers in which we would provide all the ingredients for a full Christmas Meal with all the trimmings, provide bespoke presents for all immediate family members, Stocking presents for all Children and a visit to our very own Santa’s Grotto, Any other duties as required.

We were a very small team and all worked very closely together to provide a safe, supportive and empowering place for all the customers.
