I started my career as a maths teacher in a sixth form college. I then moved on to a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) to also teach maths. After 3 years I became Head of the PRU. Ten years later the PRU amalgamated with other PRUs to form a more diverse medical PRU, which I was then Head of. A few years later an Autistic unit was included.
My range of skills and knowledge is very diverse, ranging from special needs to A level. I was also nursery manager for the 25 years of my headship and have experienced 14 Ofsted inspections, which were all judged to be good.
I have retired from being a Head recently but feel that I am now ready to get back in to work. I have many transferable skills including people management, data management, report writing, working with young people etc.
In my spare time, I am a musician and play in a band. I play flute, bass guitar, guitar and sing. I also have a keen interest in ancestry.
