Skills

Project oversight and partner liaison

I have led successful projects both in Internet marketing and then throughout my time in school leadership This included leading a school wide project to achieve High Performing School status for Jack Hunt in 2019 Working with a core team and liaising with High Performance Learning, I engaged all stakeholders and implemented new practice across a large comprehensive school to evidence our accreditation I am also experienced in writing and delivering project plans, ensuring that key milestones are achieved to allow progression I am also a flexible leader and able to use data to review and adapt plans over time Sharing a clear vision and passion is central to my approach, alongside a willingness to work hard and lead by example

Line management and staff development

I have line managed teams since 2003 and staff have benefited from my mentoring and support to develop their careers successfully I am an emotionally intelligent leader who motivates and holds staff to account through positive communication and collaboration My recent training in counselling, wellbeing and mental health has supported this aspect of my work I am a great believer in transparency in professional relationships to ensure that everyone feels valued and respected This is particularly important in all feedback and appraisal activities

Monitoring and reporting

I am adept at monitoring large organisations and reporting to a range of stakeholders, from governors and Ofsted to parents Monitoring is vital for continual improvement in any organisation and must be interrogated to review plans and develop a clear strategy for next steps

Management support

I am an experienced deputy and have twice taken on greater responsibilities at short notice after headteachers have been unexpectedly ill In addition, I am also flexible, a fast learner and always happy to adapt my role as required This was evidenced when I took over staff cover after a colleague was taken ill and had to learn a new IT system and liaise with external agencies one morning in order to ensure that all lessons were covered by 8:30am
