Work history

Shop Assistant/ Shelf Stacker

Local Premier Shop
Peterlee, Durham
01.2020 - 03.2022

I worked here to try and gain some experience with working in some environments. This has enabled me to gain experience in communicating with customers while maintaining good time management. Managed stock levels on the shop floor, restocking items to maintain optimal inventory. Kept shelves neat, clean and organised through visual merchandising. Assisted customers in locating products, offering recommendations based on specific needs.

Workshop Assistant (Temporary)

Enhanced Automotive Solutions
Newton Aycliffe, County Durham
11.2022 - 02.2023

I started here as a part-time helper to ensure that things were organised, along with making sure that everything had a place. Whilst I was here, I also managed to help with some admin work, such as filling out receipts, invoices, and other documents. I also gained the skills of communicating with customers in a polite and kind manner. This job was short-term as I was filling in for someone who was off sick.

College Work Experience

East Durham College
Peterlee, County Durham
10.2022 - 07.2023

Throughout a community action programme, I work with a small team of peers creating art for a sensory garden for people who have mental or physical needs, or disabilities. I did this while understanding how safe things need to be so that no one gets hurt. Collaborated with management and team members on end-to-end project needs, organising materials, facilitating communication and proofreading work. This helped to gain further teamwork skills, as we had to plan and produce the work that was needed within a period of time. This was also an opportunity to work with many different people who all have diverse needs and requirements. Handled various machines with precision, following safety standards, to create what was needed.
